How do I search for a product using PriceFile?

The PriceFile search facility offers you the choice of five different search criteria. The facility has been optimised to use one field at a time. Therefore, you should conduct your searches using either the product's name, its manufacturer's name, its bar code, NAPPI code or a description of the product e.g. injection.
The more detailed the 'value' you enter, the more focused your search results will be.

For example:

If you type 'ACU' into the Product Name field, your search results will yield 5 pages of products that contain the letters 'ACU' in their names.
If you type 'ACUMET' into the Product Name field, your search result will yield the exact product that you are looking for.
In this way, you can either gather search results that offer a broad range of products; (e.g. you use the description 'injection' and receive numerous products from different manufacturers) or highly specific search results that offer only the exact product you need.

How do I download the PriceFile for use in my own practice software?

If you are a registered user, click on the Access PriceFile button. This will take you to a page that offers you a variety of download options for different operating systems and software formats. The correct PriceFile download option for your practice's software will be clearly indicated in this section.

I have downloaded PriceFile for use in my practice software, but I cannot get the software to read the information in PriceFile - why?

Make sure that you have downloaded the correct version of PriceFile for your operating system. For instance, if you plan to use the PriceFile in Microsoft Excel, you will have been instructed to download the CSV version.

I have downloaded PriceFile and the file is corrupt, what do I do now?

Noise or dropped lines can often corrupt file downloads. First try to download PriceFile again, if the file is still corrupt there may be a problem with your Internet connection. We suggest you contact your Internet Service Provider immediately to query the status of your connection.

I have entered a product's NAPPI code into the NAPPI field and the search results do not display the product I am looking for. What can I do?

You should firstly make sure that you have entered the correct NAPPI code. If you still experience the same problem, try entering the first three or the last three numbers of the NAPPI code. This will yield a larger search result that will most probably contain the product you are looking for.
If you still have no success, try searching using the Product Name field. You may enter the full product name or a portion thereof.
